On Friday, December 18, 2020, the Illinois State Association of Counties (ISACo) hosted its second Annual Business Meeting. The Annual Business Meeting is required under the Association's by-laws. The 2020 gathering occurred via Zoom as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting was presided over by ISACo President and Cook County Commissioner Deborah Sims. Member counties in attendance heard reports from ISACo officers and Executive Director Joe McCoy. Director McCoy discussed ISACo activities and growth during 2020. ISACo doubled its membership during 2020 and anticipates further expansion in 2021.

Attendees also considered and approved a series of resolutions setting forth ISACo's positions on various public policy issues. Included among the resolutions were resolutions congratulating ISACo Board Member Denise Winfrey (Will County) and former ISACo Board Member Jim Healy (DuPage County). Denise Winfrey was elected as 2nd Vice President of the National Association of Counties (NACo) in July 2020 and Jim Healy retired from the DuPage County Board following many years of distinguished service.

During the Annual Business Meeting, protecting revenues shared by the state with counties was identified as a critical priority for 2021 in light of the state's ongoing structural budget deficit.
